MeredithLicensed Veterinary Technician/Certified Canine Rehabilitation Practitioner/Certified Canine Fitness Trainer
Meredith has been in the veterinary field since 1988, and has worked in a variety of practices, including small animal care, exotics, emergency medicine, and in specialty clinics in the surgery and neurology departments. A veteran Licensed Veterinary Technician at our sister hospital, Allegheny North, she played an integral role in launching Pets in Harmony and our Rehabilitation Center.
Passionate about veterinary medicine, Meredith is always striving to continue her education and broaden her knowledge and skills. In December 2017, she completed the University of Tennessee's program to earn her designation as a Certified Canine Rehabilitation Practitioner (CCRP), in 2019 she became a Certified Canine Fitness Trainer (CCFT) and she is currently pursuing her pain management (CVPM) certification. Meredith has a special interest in challenging and complex cases and enjoys learning about advancements in animal medicine. She loves the laid-back approach at Pets in Harmony and takes the time to get to know our clients and their pets. In her free time, she is very active with her dogs, competing in conformation, agility, rally, and lure coursing. She currently serves on the board of directors for the Pharaoh Hound Club of America. AshleyCertified Veterinary Technician/Certified Canine Rehabilitation Practitioner
Ashley is living out her dream of being a vet tech and CCRP in the community that she has fallen in love with and calls her home. When building the Pets in Harmony team, we were looking for enthusiastic technicians with a special interest in veterinary rehabilitation. We found Ashley, and couldn't pass her up! In January 2017, we brought her into our veterinary family at Tender Touch Veterinary Hospital, our sister clinic in Wexford, and she helped launch Pets in Harmony just months later.
A graduate of the Vet Tech Institute of Pittsburgh and a Certified Veterinary Technician, Ashley has a special interest in older, arthritic pets, and wants to do everything she can to enhance their quality of life. To help the patients under her care as much as possible, she continued her education through the University of Tennessee to become a Certified Canine Rehabilitation Practitioner (CCRP). Ashley has several pets at home: Lux (4-year-old Australian Shepherd), Fat Cat (12-year-old Domestic Shorthair and Demander-of-Belly-Rubs), Benji (9-year-old Terrier Mix) and Quanta (6-year-old Domestic Shorthair) were both adopted from school when she was a student at VTI, and Berlioz (3-year-old RagaMuffin) came home with her from work after his owner couldn't keep him. When she's not at the hospital, you can find Ashley in and around Zelienople with her husband Ethan, hiking in the woods or disc golfing. She's a foodie at heart and loves to try different restaurants and then work it off at her favorite gym before going home to snuggle with her cats. |
Mary JoVeterinary Technician
Mary Jo attended the Median School of Allied Health Careers (now known as the Vet Tech Institute of Pittsburgh) and has been in the veterinary field since 1991. After working at Avalon Vet with Dr. Moore for 23 years, she joined the Allegheny North team at our sister hospital in Pittsburgh in 2014 before helping to open Pets in Harmony in 2017.
She plays an important role in our hospital providing client education and being a patient presence that offers concern and compassion to clients and their furry kids. Her favorite aspects of working in veterinary medicine are accompanying Dr. Silvis on house calls and watching puppies and kittens grow into their senior years. Mary Jo enjoys spending time with her husband, walking and playing with their puppy Nero (a rescued Chihuahua/Jack Russell mix - see his bio below!), snuggling with Smurf (their 13-year-old black & white domestic shorthair cat), and going to the movies with her younger brother with special needs. |
Trisha, CVTCertified Veterinary Technician
Trisha is a 2012 graduate of the Vet Tech Institute. She has been part of our family since 2017, working as a Certified Veterinary Technician both here at Pets in Harmony as well as at our sister hospital, Tender Touch Veterinary Hospital in Wexford. In addition to dogs and cats, she has extensive experience with pets of all kinds, including exotics and equine care. Trisha is driven by the desire to help pets during their time of need, and frequently assists in surgery and exam rooms.
She's an avid equestrian that grew up on a horse farm (what started as 7 horses turned into 35!) and developed a passion for barrel racing at an early age. Trisha began training her own green horses at just 13 years old. These days she enjoys trail rides & barrel races with her buckskin Quarter Horse mare, Alero (who despises early mornings but LOVES treats). With so many horses, there were many visits from the vet through Trisha's childhood; that was the spark that lit her pursuit of veterinary medicine. She loves her job and knowing that at the end of each day, she's been able to help our patients through compassionate care, respect, and by treating every pet as if it were her own. Trisha lives in Harmony, PA with her boyfriend Adam. In addition to Alero, she also has two cats: Sky, who loves to hide in plastic bags, and Precious, who runs up trees as high as she possibly can to show off her skills! |

NeroChief Morale Officer/Front Desk Greeter
The newest addition to Mary Jo's family, Nero has been welcoming clients and pets at the front desk since he was just 8 weeks old. Despite having no customer service experience before joining Pets in Harmony, he has a natural talent for spreading joy and smiles, and always comes to work well-dressed.
Nero has a very calm demeanor in the office, but is full of energy at home. He loves chewing on his toys on the bed, dropping them, and barking until his mom or dad pick them up and give it back. He also enjoys chasing and playing with his older brother, Smurf the cat. |
